DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur organized World Food Fest on 17th Oct. 2011. Students from 7th to 9th Std. participated in it and presented sumputuous dishes of different 19 countries. On this occasion, cultures and flags of different countries were discussed and students prepared Shahi Kabab, Tamyam Soup, Shorba, Noodles, Kivi cake. Pulao, Gatta Curry, Biryani, French fries etc. Raj Kumar Sehgal, Principal of DMS Jalandhar graced the occasion and released the booklet ‘World Food Fest’. Yogesh Gambhir Principal of the school chrished the dishes and said that by organizing such kinds of fests, we know the food habits and cultures of other countries.

A step to get rid of pollution
DRV DAV Centenary Public School ,Phillaur organized a rally to make the people aware about the pollution being caused by burning of crop residue,which causes pollution to a great extent.It results in loss of organic matter on one hand and on the other hand friendly micro organism present in the upper layer of the earth also gets killed.School children were carried out a march on 13.10.2011 from 9.00am to 11.00am in the nearly areas of the school,carrying playcards/banners appealing the farmers to stop the practice of burning of crop residues and to use other eco friendly ways to dispose it.
