Labour Day celebrated

 DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur, celebrated Labour Day here on 2nd May. Students of kids Block enacted a play on the life of class IV employees and transporters to show the importance of their role in society. Yogesh Gambhir, Principal of the school addressed the students and said we should have dignity of the labour. Every employee has the right to get respect in his/her department. He thanked all supporing staff for their work in the school and praised the efforts of students and teachers to present such a wonderful program

Celebration of Ram Navmi & World Heritage Day

On 18th April DRV DAV SCHOOL celebrated Ram Navmi.Students sang beautiful bhajans and small kids depicted the characters of lord Rama ,Sita ,Laxman and Hanuman ji.

 World Heritage Daywas also celebrated.Students got knowledge of different monuments and other symbols  from the teachers.They prepared beautiful collage of Indian heritage.

Best Manager Award


                                   DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur got one more prestigious award (Best Manager Award) in the next category of  “Green School Award” which was organized by Science and Environment Centre. Five categories were decided for this award. Various schools participated in this National level competition.  Five schools got five awards in each category.  DRV  DAV School Phillaur won first prize in Land Category. Prize distribution function was held on 9th April, 2013 in New Delhi.   Yogesh Gambhir, Principal of the School, received this prize along with three teachers - namely Mr. Rupinder Walia, Mr. Vinod Rana, Mrs. Geeta Dhingra and five students  Radhika, Ravinder Sandhu, Gunjan Sharma, Tanya Gogna and Sukhdeep Kaur.  Principal of the school further stated that DRV DAV School, Phillaur is committed to fulfill its duty and contribution for environment conservation.

BAISAKHI & DR. AMBEDKAR JAYANTI


Baisakhi was celebrated at  DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur to mark the beginning of the harvest season.  A special assembly was organized in which teachers delivered speeches and students presented a role play on the constitution framed by  Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar.  Tiny tots presented an energetic Bhangra performance.  Rita Kalia,  Vice Principal of the School addressed students and told them about the importance of Baisakhi & role of Dr Ambedkar's contribution in Indian constitution.

INTERNATIONAL WATER CONSERVATION DAY



(22nd March, 2013) DRV DAV CENT. PUB. School, Phillaur concluded the project ‘BOOND’ on International Water Conservation Day conducted by Poonam Suri ji. For the last few days various programs like poetic recitation, declamation, slogan writing, chart making , quiz , painting competition, rally and awareness on save water were organized in the school. The result of these activities was analyzed on water conservation day. Parents of the students were asked the effect of these activities on their wards. They told that their children have become more aware about the conservation of water and they try not to waste water in every possible way. Yogesh Gambhir, Principal of the school said that our future will be safe if children know the importance of water

DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur performed ‘Hawan’ on 23rd February, 2013 to extend best wishes  and to seek the blessings of the Almighty for  the outgoing class (12th Std.).  Yogesh Gambhir, Principal of the School conveyed his blessings and good wishes to the students for Board Exams.  Prasad was distributed among the students and staff members.

VIDEO CONFERENCE




Phillaur, (7thFeb.2013), students of DRV DAV CENT. PUBLIC SCHOOL, Phillaur participated in group discussion  with the students of other schools through video conferencing. This  conference was  organized  by the Ex-Prime Minister of England, Tony Blair’s Foundation (Face to Face) for the schools of the world. Mrs. Simmi  Kher is the organizer of this foundation  in India who conducts such kind of programmes for Indian schools. Conference was organized among Bal Bharti School, Delhi,  Union School,  Dehradun and DAV Public School, Phillaur.  Topic of the discussion was ‘Festivals’.  All the three schools discussed and exchanged the knowledge about National and regional festivals.  Knowledge of main regional festivals of Punjab like Lohri, Baisakhi & Hola Mohalla was provided.  Fifteen students of age 15 years and above participated in it and shared the views with each other.  Yogesh Gambhir, Principal of the school said that  now it is the need of the hour to remain connected with the world  via technology.  DAV Phillaur has become the first school in Punjab to have participated in such kind of conference.

Republic Day Celebrated



               REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATED



 Students of DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur celebrated Republic Day with great fervour. School Principal, Yogesh Gambhir hoisted the national flag and greeted the students and teachers.   Students in tri-coloured dresses performed dance and fascinated all.  Some students sang patriotic songs, recited poems and delivered speeches related to the occasion.

WATER   CONSERVATION   AWARENESS   CAMPAIGN     


‘Conserve Water’campaign  in the form of  a Human Chain was organized  by DRV DAV CENT. PUBLIC SCHOOL,PHILLAUR on  19th Jan.2013 under the project ‘BOOND  2013’  started by  A.P.P. Upsabha-Delhi and Rashtriya  Yuva Samaj- New Delhi.This is a dream project of Poonam Suri,President of  DAV CMC. Students and teachers ‘formed a chain to make the people aware about the importance of water. Hundreds of students shouting slogans and carrying placards and banners   marched towards  the city.  The posters and banners which read ’Don’t Waste Water’  ‘Water   is Elixir’ ,’No Life Without Water’ etc. showed the importance of water in life. The   main purpose of this chain was to strengthen young minds for sustainable  future and spread the message among the people that  water is precious jewel  so we all must promise to save it. This chain  was started by the Chief Guest Mr. G.S .Gill, Environmental Engineer of  Punjab Pollution Control  Board. Yogesh  Gambhir, Principal of the  school  encouraged the students to save water in all possible ways  and have a pledge not to waste even a single drop of water,
