WORKSHOP ORGANIZED

DRV DAV  Public School, Phillaur organized a workshop for Academic Excellence to plan and organize program for in service teachers of the region on 22^nd july 2014. DAV CMC has constituted a centre for excellence and at regional level under the aegis of DAV centre for academic excellence. Seventy academic supervisors, coordinators, and in service teachers from primary, middle and secondary wing of 25 DAV Public schools participated in it. Topic of the workshop was TEACHING LEARNING PROCESS – ASSESSMENT, PLANNING AND EVALUATION. Chief guest of the workshop was Mrs. P.P Sharma (Regional Director, Jalandhar, Gurdaspur and J&K zone). S.R Prabhakar, Principal DAV School, Patiala addressed the workshop. Yogesh Gambhir, Principal of the school described the importance of creative evaluation and extended his sincere gratitude to all the guest teachers.

Summer Camp

LABOR DAY HELD

DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur organized ‘Labor Day’ to honour the workers on 1^st May, 20014.  Students  enacted a play  depicting the importance of  labor.   Yogesh Gambhir, Principal of the School felicitated the workers and gave away the mementos as a present.  He stated that there is a dignity of labour in a civilized society. Nothing is difficult and impossible for the hard working people.  He emphasized them to be hard working and understand the dignity of labour.  He congratulated the helping hands on the occasion.

Baisakhi Fair Held

To acquaint the students with Punjab’s most famous Fair Baisakhi, DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur organized a fair with zeal and enthusiasm on 23^rd April, 2014.  On this occasion, students presented various cultural programmes like Gidha, Bhangra, Solo Song and school students dressed as Punj Pyare came on the stage.  Some teachers also presented their  views about Baisakhi.  Fair was an amalgam of swings, fun games and eatable stalls.  Students enjoyed fund game, swings and ate their favourite eatables.  They danced happily.  The school ground was depicting a beautiful view of Baisakhi.  Yogesh Gambhir stated that festivals are the symbol of unity and brotherhood in the society.  They teach us to share the happiness and joy.  He congratulated all and said that we should celebrate the fair and festivals whole-heartedly.

HEALTH AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

DRV DAV Cent. Public School, Phillaur conducted the  Health Awareness Campaign  on 10^th March, 2014 successfully. This campaign was started on 7^th April 2014 to raise health awareness among the students. Students learnt various ways of staying healthy by different activities. Small children brought nutritious food from their homes & their teachers apprised them about the food qualities in them. A play was also enacted to provide the information about health. Yogesh Gambhir, Principal of the school stated that healthy life style can create a healthier nation/world. So healthy food habits should be promoted among all.

Commencement of new Session with Vedic Hawan

DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur organized  ‘Vedic Hawan’ on 2^nd  April, 2014 to commemorate the very first day of the new academic session to seek blessings of the Almighty for bright future of the students and tremendous development of the institution.New Students from Nursery to 12^th Std. participated in it.  Prasad was distributed among the students and staff members. Yogesh Gambhir, Principal of the School  extended his warm welcome to the new students and encouraged them to work hard.
