Republic day was celebrated in DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur on 25th January, 2016. On this occasion students created the fervour of patriotism by participating in singing, dancing and other cultural activities. Students shouted patriotic slogans by being the freedom fighters. On this occasion students were even asked the names of various freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the sake of their country. The very purpose of this was to create awareness among the students of our rich past. Principal Mr. Yogesh Gambhir hoisted the India flag and wished a very happy republic day to all. He explained the significance of the Indian tri colour and said that the Indian soldiers are always ready at the border so that they could protect the Countrymen to have a sleep of peace. He further said that they are ready to sacrifice their lives in order to promote peace which is a pre-requisite for prosperity.
